Thermowood Cladding

TimberClick is able to offer a range of Thermowood Claddings, please see profiles below.

Thermowood is produced by treating softwood timber in kilns at very high temperatures which alters the cellular structures of the timber and as a result makes the timber far more stable, especially so in changing climates. The process of kilning the timber is environmentally friendly, the process uses heat vapour and steam only, no chemicals or foreign substances are used at all.

Surface Treatment

As the timber is far more stable it makes its surface far more receptive to surface treatments and coatings. If left with no surface coating Thermowood will weather to a beautiful silvery grey colour.

Fire Treatment

Thermowood is suitable to receive fire retardant treatments.

Source

Thermowood is softwood timber that has been felled in Scandanavia, as such it will be from well managed sustainable forests.

Where To Use Thermowood

Due to its superior stability Thermowood is ideal for Claddings and Decking. Together with this application it may also be used internally for floors, mouldings and sauna panelling.

Fixings

When fixing Thermowood it is advised to use stainless steel / non ferrous metals.
